Your friend Justin came by the house After my dad died in the driveway Even inside that awful moment I was hoping you might reach out In the back of my mind I knew the books I Stole belonged to you When you were screaming at me in the hallway I was just happy for your attention I know how bad I hurt the people I've loved most in my life looking back now I wish I was better And didn't always have to be right They say your first love never fades away fully And the thought still comes to mind It's been eleven years since you told me to fuck off But I dreamt about you last night I'm sorry to you I'm sorry to everyone I've ever brought hurt to I'm sorry to you I'm sorry to everyone I'm sorry I was someone Who hurt you so bad Wherever you're at I feel like I need to apologize even though it's better left alone And I know if you receive a message, you'll be blocking the number from my phone My delusion is that one day I'll be rich or famous enough to plead For your forgiveness on a TV screen, maybe in an acceptance speech Over the years I wrote out texts I then deleted because there's nothing I could say That isn't inherently selfish that isn't too little too late I'm sorry to you I'm sorry to everyone I've ever brought hurt to I'm sorry to you I'm sorry to everyone I'm sorry I was someone Who hurt you so bad Wherever you're at I hope your life turned out As well as you deserve I wish I could fix the past But all I've got are words So take this message to heart I wish I could go back I loved you from the start Wherever you're at

Daddy captained the football team loved hearing the bleachers scream planned on going to USC then getting drafted by Tennessee Now he's a Titan in real estate been 30 years since he last played his only daughter wants to run away she's in love but she can't say It's the small town story of all of us We're all small town stories, each one of us Daughter wanted to be prom queen her only chance was pretending Kelly wasn't her sweetheart so every night she falls apart Crying on the bedroom floor wishing this town could give her more than sports bars and superstores and some way to feel adored It's the small town story of all of us We're all small town stories, each one of us Dad keeps living his glory days Still trying to get back his yesterday He's drinking 6-packs every night behind blue eyes that once held the light I saw the football fly I saw it with my own eyes There's got to be a way out before this family turns to dust before this whole place is burning up Forgotten in the winter winds rusted factories holding all our sins children playing after dark in the local park where pipes & needles lay they'll be like him someday never moving on missing every new moment there's got to be an end to these small town stories

If you can ever find a reason If you can ever change your mind This world is going to keep on spinning And you'll never know the reason why No matter what you always think Open your heart up for the duration Not everyone is out to get you Don't get caught up in the temptation There's gonna be a brighter morning Please listen closely to this warning Dont get jaded its overdone And it'll burn you in the long run You will remain sturdy If you got the right bones Do you got the right bones? When you're on your journey Don't forget to write home Don't forget to write home If you can ever stop pretending If you can ever finally let go Stop being so condescending Open up the curtains and start the show Theres always some excuse to maintain Go find the joy in the pouring rain Don't look for reason in the mayhem Always tell your friends that you love them You will remain sturdy If you got the right bones Do you got the right bones? When you're on your journey Don't forget to write home Don't forget to write home You will feel lost sometimes Just breathe it all in It doesn't mean that you're failing It means you're not where you've been You will remain sturdy If you got the right bones Do you got the right bones? When you're on your journey Don't forget to write home Don't forget to write home Don't forget to write home

Driving down highway 101 with a loaded gun ready for the run and it's fun this is my holy moment I want to feel your hand on my leg I want to taste rays of sunshine burning down on my face I want your love but you won't give it Rolling through Downtown LA Every day seems like my day I can't take anyone seriously But I'll take your money, your money, your money and your time I need your money, your money, your money and your time I need your money, your money, your money and your time I need your Wristwatch and Dollar Signs Wristwatch and Dollar Signs Cruising with the windows down passing through Chinatown After cashing out your bank account this is my holy moment I want to swim in your salty blue thighs I want to see you melt under smoky orange skies I want your love but you won't give it Shifting gears past Mulholland Drive Heading to the valley past the vacancy signs I can't take anyone seriously But I'll take your money, your money, your money and your time I need your money, your money, your money and your time I need your money, your money, your money and your time I need your Wristwatch and Dollar Signs Young children follow through, take drugs til you turn blue She never came calling, so I had to come to you I found you fine, you took your time But you haven't paid me a dime Rolling through Downtown LA Every day seems like my day I can't take anyone seriously But I'll take your money, your money, your money and your time I need your money, your money, your money and your time I need your money, your money, your money and your time I need your Wristwatch and Dollar Signs

There's nothing left for us to speak about We've hit a wall, there's no connection Don't try to stall, join the procession Get everything you can before you die 'cause everyone's exactly like you We don't feel those feelings We are lonely people This is all that we have This is all that we have left Live it up now This is our sound Sing it out loud Don't give up, sing it out Live it up now This is our sound Sing it out loud Don't give up, sing it out We're all just lonely people Everyone's just lonely And this is all we have; all we have There's no airport in my hometown I guess that's why they say there's no getting out; 'cause there's no getting out We don't feel those feelings We are lonely people This is all that we have This is all that we have left Live it up now This is our sound Sing it out loud Don't give up, sing it out Live it up now This is our sound Sing it out loud Don't give up, sing it out We're all just lonely people Everyone's just lonely And this is all we have; all we have Put your hands in the air It's all we can really do Put your hands in the air This is all we have left Live it up now This is our sound Sing it out loud Don't give up, sing it out Live it up now This is our sound Sing it out loud Don't give up, sing it out We're all just lonely people Everyone's just lonely And this is all we have; all we have

Im flying home this weekend The first time since the Christmas after you left Not sure there's anything left for me I only used to go to keep you company And our mothers they'll get older While you stay the same You never got to write a book You never saw New Orleans I wish we knew what it took You settled for my brother and me In the end it seemed you had some regrets About the way your life unfolded But I think you always did your best And onto that I will be holding Everyone is fighting it for their whole lives Always forging on their own path But we are all simply the rolling tides Breathing life until our very last You'll never get to write a book You'll never see New Orleans I should've known what it took To settle for my brother and me We'll never live the lives we've always wanted All we've got is today Find the smiles wherever you can get them Go out and find your sun ray You'll never get to write a book You'll never see New Orleans We're going to figure out what it took To settle for my brother and me

I spent my 29th birthday in the ICU What I needed most was a card from you But you hadn't bought one yet Before the accident Before the end Am I even sad because you're gone? Or do you represent some kind of younger self Am I mourning the person you were? or the people you could've been? Even in the face of death I'm a narcissist Welcome to the weird part where life goes on Hard to believe now that you were 33 I've only seen pictures from when you were in your teens It's so hard to reconcile A photo of a tiny child another smile Don't you get it? You'll miss my wedding day Downtown Buffalo will never be the same No longer you exist another herartache on the list you will be missed Welcome to the weird part where life goes on coming for us all coming for us all There's one thing I can't control the biggest thing in the world Like father like son Like father like son It's a circle of boys and men saying goodbye again

Holy Mountain way up high Will you tell me the day I die? Cause I dont want to worry anymore Deepest ocean, do you know After all this where we go? With the orcas and the waves i hope Blue sunset sky dont go away We've only got so many days And I dont want this to end All the people you could become Disappear with each setting sun Would little you be happy? Every fork in the road puts out light That illuminates your chance at a different life You'll never know what could've been Because that's not the world that we're living in You thought you'd d become something You thought they'd hear you sing You thought you'd go to space But your in the same place And the world got in your way While all the people you could become are dying every day All the people you could become are dying every day

You can stay if you want to We Want You To Stay You can stay if you want to We Want You To Stay Tell me what you're late for We're not in a rush You're not in trouble We're Not in a Rush It's the randomness of life. It's just over in a second, truly a blip. Born and died in the same world. You'll never get to see whats next. The society we've created has left you with a lasting trauma that makes you feel like you need to rush through life. It makes you feel like you're always in trouble and you're not doing anything quite right. It's nonsense. You're allowed to do whatever you want. Currencies and economy are made up. Careers and marriage are made up. Countries and borders are made up. Politics and war are made up. Nothing is real. The life you're supposed to live according to your parents or your school or your community is made up. The hamster wheel just keeps on turning. Nothing is real. The only thing that's real is your experience in this present moment. There are near-infinite paths that our lives could have taken us from birth. Those options slowly disappear as our lives take shape and morph into something we'd never hoped for. You'll realize that despite your dreams of being a doctor, an astronaut, a model, a comedian, a writer, a rockstar, a mother, a father, a world traveller, or anything else - nothing will come to fruition exactly as you planned. In the end all we have is today. Each present moment. And it's beautiful. Don't rush through life. Don't let it pass you by. Look around right now. Enjoy this moment. Even if you're feeling sad or feeling lonely, you're alive. FEEL ALIVE. FEEL ALIVE. Feel this moment. Don't overlook the trees and the birds and the ponds and the streams. Don't forget to appreciate the sun in the sky and your feet on the ground. You are alive. This moment is all you have. Don't rush through it. We're not in a rush. You're not in trouble. You are alive right now. Love this moment. It's all we've got. So tell me what you're late for. We're not in a Rush You can stay if you want to We want you to stay

about

This album explores the idea of near-infinite paths that our lives could take us at birth and how those options slowly disappear as our lives take shape and morph into something we'd never hoped for. It was brought on by the recent unexpected early death of my father and my path through grief; exploring all the different unexpected emotions that come in a difficult time like that.
